What's The Safest Products I Could Use To Highlight My Hair Purple and Pink?

My Hair Is A Regular To Dark Brown Shade. And I want Highlights Like Avril L. Pink Ones. I Don't Know Much About The Bleach Or The Best Brands to Use...What's The Safest Products I Could Use To Highlight My Hair Purple and Pink?
The only way to get the desired look is by going to a Paul Mitchell salon, they will highlight your hair and dye it purple/pink with Paul Iitchell Inkworks. Inkworks is the only product that I have found that actually works, is the color you think it will be, and resists fading for the longest....if you do it any other way, with any other product, your hair will look like crap...it will look like a week and a half faded kool-ade accident

I am not a fan of manic panic personally...That bleach is extremely harsh. it is meant to make your hair super super white, and the chemicals are more harsh than they need to be, so if you have fragile hair, don't use it. If you really have to do it yourself, go to the beauty supply store and get a bleach and color...don't buy anything at the drug store, drug store products do not compare to professional products.

I am telling you though, the only way, unless by fluke, that you will get the desired results is by going to a professional.

Almost every colored dye out there is pretty gentle, The biggest reason that I don't like manic panic is because they use henna for some of their reds...henna is quite possibly the worst thing that most people think is ok for your hair, because its natural...but if you ever want to bleach your hair again...or at least until its grown out...don't use henna products. What's The Safest Products I Could Use To Highlight My Hair Purple and Pink?
Manic panic flash lightening kits are going to be harsh, especially the strongest stuff which may burn you, but it will be effective.

I have brown hair and use 'tints of nature lightener' its ammonia free. If you are bothered about damage from bleaching, ammonia free lightening products are the best option.

Manic panic is quite good, but a little messy (i've got a nice blue stain on my bathroom floor) and not long lasting. In my experience special effects dyes are definately the best and like manic panic they are vegetable based. Generally speaking pink dyes are a little longer lasting.
Use Kool-Aid. It's very easy and efficient.

Materials:

Bleaching Kit (use one specifically for bleaching, not blonding)

Wire whisk

Deep Conditioner (or real mayonnaise)

4-5 packets of pink %26amp; purple colored UNSWEETENED kool-aid

(we always used about 20 packets to make sure we had plenty, it's cheap enough that that is what I recommend)

two Med. bowls

Directions:

First, bleach the parts of your hair you want dyed. Mix the ingredients according to the directions in the bleaching box and apply to hair in a well-ventilated room. Put on a shower cap and wait the recommended amount of time. At this point, check the hair to see how much it has bleached out. If not enough, put the cap back on and wait another ten minutes. Keep checking your hair until it had turned a yellowish white color. Then go rinse the bleach completely out. DO NOT use the conditioner that comes with the kit. This will close off your hair to the color. DO NOT SHAMPOO OR CONDITION YOUR HAIR AT THIS POINT.

Next, mix up the kool-aid. Put the kool-aid in the bowl, (each in separate bowls) and add double the amount of conditioner (or mayo). Thickly coat your newly bleached hair with the solution. If it's not enough, make more.

Now is the hard part. Cover your hair with a tight shower cap or use a lot of plastic wrap. The longer you wait to rinse it out, the stronger the color will be. I recommend waiting at least an hour and a half, but all day would be better. The longer you wait, the better it adheres to your hair.

This is a semi-permanent dye. It will gradually fade, but it will take a long time since you bleached first.

Have Fun!!

TIPS:

You can wrap your hair in foil, saran wrap, etc to make sure it doesn't get on the rest of your hair when you bleach it.
use any kind of hair bleach, they ok all ok to use if its any well known brand.

then go over with the coloured dye and leave it on for longer than your suposed to because it lasts longer and the colour comes out brighter.. you can get pink and purple hair dye from superdrug

.. dyed my pink two months ago and blue last month
manic panic!

or kool-aid does work too!
