you can test the raccoon tails by using the fake ones at claries, or using marker, semi-permanent die, or even sharpie to try it out.
Yes! I think that would look so cute! If it's permanent, make sure you do it underneath, and not on top. That way, when it starts to grow out, people won't notice.
If it's not permanent, determine how long it takes your hair to grow. How long the product lasts and how quickly you hair grows will help you determine where to put the highlights.

Is it okay if i only use conditioner when i shower, i have pink highlights and don't want it to wash out.?
i've notice that when i use shampoo the water turns out pink like if the color was fading, but when i only use conditioner nothing happens.Is it okay if i only use conditioner when i shower, i have pink highlights and don't want it to wash out.?
I had pink hi-lights myself and also as a hairdresser I can tell you that they are going to fade and fade fast. The vibrant colors just don't last as long as regular hair colors such as brown or black. You could opt for using conditioner only but it won't clean your hair. Try not to wash your hair except when you just can't stand it any longer. It isn't good to wash your hair everyday anyways.

Okay, I have long dark brown hair meaning it goes a little past the middle of my back. And i love making everything into an art project seriously. I tease my hair so much and I've done so many different styles of clothing, makeup. I've pretty much done everything. Now I have an idea of my own Style I'm just trying to find myself. I can understand that you're going for an edgier look, but I think you would look better with one or the other. Whatever you decide, make sure it's on the under-layers so it shows through only on the bottom unless it'll just look trashy.

NO! Blonde and pink hair does not look good on anyone! Instead, you will look gorgeous in Dark Chocolate Brown. ( A brown that is dark yet you are able to say its brown and not a light black). If you have dark brown hair, streaks will have to be bleached into your hair before you can apply a bright colour as they won't take otherwise, also as pink fades it turns orange, bright colours generally stain as they fade, i had pink hair before all over and had to dye my hair to get rid of the orange stain, so be aware of that.
If you are wondering will it suit, yes it will. Try a magenta colour rather than acid or hot pink though.
If you are planning a diy job stargazer has a large range of dyes that are semi-permanent, but will stain.
If you want to have coloured hair without dying it, you can buy different colour extensions, it's also a good way to see whether or not you like the colour.
You can buy them cheap buts it's literally only barbie hair, you can buy real dyed extensions which are more pricey but look and last better.Should I get pink highlights?

My best friend has the same exact type of hair from your description and she used to have colored highlights in her bangs. It looked very good. She also had hot pink, but a lot of different colors as well. Any color should look good!

Your hair would have to have been bleached already to be the bright blue, however if you want the pink you're going to have to decide where you want the pink streaks. Once you've decided take those strips and bleach them again using foil, wrap the strip of hair in foil so that it doesn't touch your blue and accidently bleach your blue hair too! Then buy some pink and put it over it while testing every 5 minutes for the desired shade. I got a fire engine red put into my hair not too long ago and she didn't bleach it at all first, she just left it in there for a while.
You should go to the salon, honestly stylist's can only do highlights properly. If you've dyed your hair before and still have color in your hair you will have to bleach those parts. If this is the first time you've dyed your hair, their is no need to bleach.
go get a chucking cap and a bleach kit bleach the crap out of the spots the lighter the hair the better the pink and then color them pink anytime there's bleaching involved though I see a professional but if you're feeling ambitious go for it sally beauty supply will have everything you need and dont be afraid to ask the girls there for help

The new hair color, if it's permanent, will deposit color into each strand. The red will be more vibrant on your old highlights, but they probably won't turn them pink.

You need to use a copper filler on your highlights first to fill in the hair and then add the red to lessen the pink affects. But that hair color is awesome.

All of these people are crazy. It doesn't look bad at all!! I've done it and I've gotten so many compliments on it.
To add pink hair dye, you're going to have to bleach the sections you want to dye pink first, which will cause some damage to your hair.
If you don't want to damage your hair with bleach, you can always buy clip in extensions, or go to a salon and get a few extensions there. And with extensions you can always get a few different colors and switch them around every so often for a different look.
Pink does fade fairly quickly, so extensions might be your best bet. If you end up doing this yourself at home, with bleach and pink hair dye, you can just keep retouching the pink whenever it fades. It's pretty easy to upkeep. I find that when mine fades, I just quickly streak the pink hair dye through, leave it on for a few minutes and wash out. It takes not even a half an hour.

Hazelly-dark brown = a bit brighter

the hair you are going to apply the bright colors to has to be permanantly light (for the best%26amp;brightest color results, get the hair you want dyed down to the lightest blone you can find, or bleach it if you are willing to do that) in order for the colors to stick and last longer. Never ever dye your hair more than one or two shades lighter or darker than your natural color. With that said, I think that a dark brown that appears to be right about at your shade (or just a tad lighter) or one of the darkest reds you can find would look nice. Try not to get a brown that's too golden, or else it will look like that fake orange color that is all too common, even if it isn't too much lighter than your natural color. If you go with the red, I suggest a brown-ish, realistic tone instead of that purple punk-rock type.I have dark brown hair- almost black. I have pale skin with some pink. Don't do blonde hightlights. They will wash you out. Copper or auburn would looke awesome. Make sure they aren't too chunky. Thinner highlights add definition to your hair.
You can only achieve 4 levels of lift before you turn orange or gold. Hair color can help achieve this. However most hair color experts would know how to achieve the level you are looking for and what best looks good on you. How you look in the end is important to us as we helped you look that way. You have to bleach the parts you want to color because if your hair is too dark it won't pick up any of the color pigments. I have dark brown hair and when I tried dying it a burgundy red, NOTHING showed up.
But bleaching your hair can really screw it up. Pretty much what bleach does is strip away the color pigment in your hair. It isn't dying it a different color, it's taking ALL the color away which can leave it brittle and fizzy if not taken care of properly. Also straightening your hair a lot, without using some sort of product to protect it, can leave your hair damaged. Now bleaching AND straightening can mess up your hair big time!
Personally I wouldn't do it if I had to bleach my hair since I don't want to mess it up even more than it is. But if your hair is light enough that you don't need bleach, go for it.

however, you cannot get these colors once you color your hair black. because the hair needs to be pre lightened to achieve these color. you need to go to a salon and have this done if you insist on it. you can keep up the fun color with manic panic after it is done because it will do nothing to the black hair.
just remember i have made thousands of dollars off of people that think they want black hair and then when they are tired of it they can't get it out and they ruin their hair. it is by far the hardest color to correct.

That being said, totally. I think you should stick to 2 colors rather than three though. I have always been partial to pink %26amp; black. I would suggest dying yr hair pink and putting black highlights on with a cap. That way, if you dont like the black, it will give you a little more flexibility with changing it back.
I used to use manic panic to dye my hair bright red. Id bleach my hair out on day one, and dye it red on day 2.
OVER TIME, THIS WILL DAMAGE YOUR HAIR IMMENSELY...but it came out a really pretty color

She had highlights put in also, they didn't turn out so well. I would really think about it before you do it, if you don't like it then it will be hard to ';fix';. Your at an age where changing your hair is fun, just be careful so that you don't cause damage. Good Luck on whatever you decide!

i saw in a magazine mid length angled layered hair dyed chocolate brown with the very tips of the ends of the layers around the face/shoulders bleached then dyed mid purple. i dont much like that sort of hair but it looked sooooooooo cool i loved it so try that goodluck xxx
yes dying the ends looks really cute, Ive done it for my daughter.You have to bleach out the ends and then add the color. It will dry out the ends pretty good so use a colored hair conditioner. Good luck and go for it...its fun.

I am a hair stylist though, and I would suggest Paul Mitchell InkWorks.
We do something at my salon called an ';Ink Stamp'; its where we put the color in the hair in small foils, and then LIGHTLY tap the foil with a flat iron. The heat from the flat iron causes the cuticle of the hair to open slightly, and allow the temporary color molecules to enter the hair.
After that, you remove the foils and rub the color off of the hair as much as possible, and then go over it again with the flat iron until the hair is dry. Do not wash hair until the next day.

If you have a Sally Beauty Supply store near you go there and they have temporary hilights that come in pink. It looks like mascara. Its in the hair dye section. it is very easy to put in and wash out. And I think would look more real than paint and less messy.

I think blonde would look a bit too dramatic against your hair colour. Blonde highlights tend to look kinda skunk-ish on dark hair.

I had them for a few months when I was 14. They were great, I really liked them, I dyed my best friends entire head pink too, last summer.
If you're unsure though, use manic panic, it washes out fairly quickly, and they've got a bunch of different shades of pink. :)

I had them for a few months when I was 14. They were great, I really liked them, I dyed my best friends entire head pink too, last summer.
If you're unsure though, use manic panic, it washes out fairly quickly, and they've got a bunch of different shades of pink. :)

the summer before my junior year i got a couple underneath on both sides of my hair. the rest was blonde, and then it was black underneath. it looked really cute. forbidden from myspace inspired me to do it haha.
i have hair that ranges from dark brown to light blonde, and i got pink on the underside. It looks great, i get so many compliments on it. If you have dark hair be sure to bleach it first, if you dont it wont even be visible. I use L'oreal colour rays in fushia flash. i'm trying manic panic soon though.

You can get spray in pink hair stuff at Sally Beauty Supply.. but it only lasts until you wash it out, other than that there really isn't a way to get pink in dark brown hair without bleaching unless you get some extensions of some sort and cut them off about the length you need. You can get pink clip in extensions at Sally's too.
i think the only way for that is to bleach them then dye it over. :/

i'm not a big fan of hair coloring in general i like the clean natural look in peoples appearance. have you ever braided your hair with separate pink and blond strands so it looks like a pink and blond checker board where it's weaved together? i think it would kind of neat if it was done right.

I work in a law firm and it's a very professional atmosphere. I was wondering if putting really super thin pink and blond highlights in my hair would be okay to wear with business attire and around highly respected clients. Are pink highlights suitable for a professional environment

You might even end up getting fired b/c of it when comments are made by others to your boss. Not worth it. If you want to change your hair color, go to a stylist and see what he/she says that would look professional yet bold and sassy on you.

This will look a little...out there. But as long as you know, go for it. Streaks will probs look better than the full bottom, but make sure they're not chunky and cheap. Get them done in a good salon and make sure they bleach your hair before colouring.

Over unbleached hair you may still get a sheen of colour but its unlikely to give a proper 鈥榥eon鈥?or bright result. I personally like when the bottom layer is bleached and dyed as you can wear hair down for a sublte look with the colour showing through, or wear hair up to show off the neon colour better.
