I have blonde hair and I am planning on getting bright pink/majenta highlights in my hair, but seeing as it is almost summer, I will be swimming soon, and I am afraid of the effects chlorine will have on my hair color.
ps. I dye my hair myself at homeBlonde hair with bright pink highlights + chlorine, what will happen?
You might end up with some green highlightsBlonde hair with bright pink highlights + chlorine, what will happen?
you'll be fine people say your going to get green but that's a lie that doesn't happen.
the worst that can happen is that your highlights will fade out faster and instead of being a bright pink color they might become a dull pink color you have nothign to worry about.
you might find that your hair will get a slight green tint to it but if you wash it with tomato sauce after you have been swimming and then with shampoo and condition then it should stop this from happening.
I'm a light brunette who has had pink streaks and chlorine did not do anything to my hair. Blue streaks with chlorine caused me to have green hair though.
The chlorine will make the pink fade faster than it would otherwise - no big deal, you'll just have to re-dye sooner.
